Spiritually gifted. Humanly flawed
Do you ever feel so spiritually gifted, but also so humanly flawed?
You’re aware of the purpose God has for you. Aware of the gifts He gave you.
But at times you question…
God, can I maintain what You gave me?
Do I even have the capacity to use it?
My human side feels so flawed—how can I execute anything?
Feeling like you’re too much of a mess… or like you might mess it up.
I can relate.
I once told my therapist, “I can’t help anybody. My emotions, my life, and the way I view myself are too complicated. How can I give anyone advice?”
But I’ve learned something…
The humanly flawed actually helps the spiritually gifted.
You need both—in balance.
Being humanly flawed gives you compassion. It keeps you humble.
It reminds you not to think too highly of yourself.
It keeps you growing, seeking God, and asking for help.
It also allows you to be real—transparent about your struggles and honest with people.
But I say healthy amounts… because if you focus only on your flaws,
it will make you doubt too much. Fear too much.
It will make you hesitate to use your gifts the way God intended—
to serve Him and help others.
So yes… it’s a balance.
Because recognizing you’re spiritually gifted can also go the other way.
It can make you big-headed. Judgmental. Overly righteous.
You can lose sight of your own flaws—
and forget the grace and mercy God gave you in yours.
But here’s the real question…
God wants to trust you with power.
How will you treat the broken?
The ones still trying to figure it out—
their purpose, themselves, and their relationship with Him?
